Group Presentations:

Speech is important it leads to unlocking powerful communication skills and building confidence. Which also conflicts with teamwork that allows leader to view many varieties of different skills and strengths of individuals, enabling the team to move in a unified direction toward shared goals.

Group 3:

Group Leadership and Problem Solving

The first project we recently did we all worked together as a team and efficiently. Everyone chose a section from the topic of the chapter that we wanted to do. The chapter we were given was Chapter 10: Group Leadership and Problem Solving which is about how a group of individuals who are in a group of all members that are truly leaders not just one person. The way leadership works is everyone will always have their part in a task. The way we worked in this project was very coordinate and we all communicated and if anyone needed help such as revising the work or organizing the power points everyone helped.

Throughout this chapter the one of major topics that were spoken about was the functions in teams that there are five roles among all members such as, being committed to a group goal, keeping discussions on track, completing individual assignments on time, encouraging input for all members, and managing conflict among members. This chapter also explained how to run effective meeting the way for a meeting to be effective and efficient that both leaders and participants should take actions for it to be productive. There are many ways that can help with systematic problem solving by identifying and defining problems, analyzing a problem and get as much information as possible, proposed solutions or finding alternative solutions, and evaluate solutions and deciding what is best to be solved such as agreeing on solution.

Communicating is the main important concept, and which helps group solutions in a variety of formats. There are different types of communications one of them is written formats which would be considered as a written brief or a comprehensive report. Oral formats as in oral briefs and oral reports, or panel discussions which would involve someone speaking doing presentation in front of a group or individual. Visual reports that are remote access reports and streaming videos involve using technology have an advantage for providing simultaneous communication. Group effectiveness is important you evaluate how the interactions affect by what they do and how members interact with each other. Another way to evaluate groups are by dynamics which would be describing each member interactions. Dynamics describe how each member performed his or her specific tasks of how well the communication is with cohesiveness, problem solving, and conflict resolutions process groups.

The pictures we all provided in the projects were examples how we visualize what we talk about these topics. I really liked this chapter we were given it was very informative and important on how it is working with groups especially like mine.

Group 2:

Communicating in Groups

I really liked the way group 2 demonstrated the presentation they had a lot of informative information. They mentioned wonderful insights in which will help with effective planning and communications from interaction and throughout performance

The section that caught my attention when they were discussing Chapter 9 was the different stages of development group. Which are known as forming, storming, norming, performing, adjourning knowns as the Tuckman's stages of group development. This method helps groups by creating a maturity and ability, relationship establishments, and leadership style changes to more collaborative or shared leadership. A little bit of background information of how it started was from a paper he was writing named "Developmental Sequence in Small Groups" it would describe the path of teams follow to have a higher performance. This is usually the way groups interact trying to brainstorm and see where to start.

Group 2 mentioned the all key objectives for this chapter of different variety of groups but the most effective groups develop goals to meet like specific, common purpose, challenging and shared. The healthiness of a groups which are more defined, ethical, cohesive, work establishment and achieve synergy. Managing a group conflict which occurs both interpersonal communication and group communication, and the effectiveness of managing a group conflict of interpersonal communication and group communication is by making the group stronger rather than weakening them. The main three conflict that is known are pseudo-conflict, issue-related group conflict, and personality-related group.

Overall, Group 2 had a good presentation I like the way they went in depth with there presentation and knowledge that they gave everyone from this chapter of "Communicating in Groups". They really described the effectiveness of how groups can be better with all the strategies that were mentioned like clear communication, creating trust with your groups, and setting goals.

Group 1:

The Importance of Intercultural Communication

Group 1 presentation was wonderful! I love the way they explain the whole presentation you can notice that a lot of time was put into it. The way they informed the class with important information but with the images and videos was very eye-opening and amazing.

Culture is an important topic in general it shares a lot of value to many people it's belief, attitudes, and norms that guides. Intercultural communication involves interactions that occur between been those with different cultures that even communication is altered. Dominant and co-cultures are in all society. Shared system which is bond to exist within dominant culture, and can vary within co-cultures based on race, ethnicity, sex, and gender, orientation, religion and etc.

Cultures differ because it's a critical when talking about it with others who differ cultural norms, this helps because it expresses and shows the difference on how we can adapt communication. This chapter is important because intercultural communications improve relationships leading to acceptance and stronger relationships. Especially in organizations helps business opportunities  and prevent and resolve conflicts and understand those around us. An important method that can improve intercultural communication competence is being more acknowledge and overcome common intercultural communication barriers. Employing the competent communication strategies of acquiring accurate knowledge, appropriate attitude and developing culture-centered skills.

Group 1 out did themselves everything was wonderful for this project. It brought out main factors of everyday topics that happen in this society and illustrated just to back up with all the information it was very clear and informative.

In Conclusion

I really enjoyed this project it was very important. The information everyone's group included is something everyone should know about especially outside of this class. It really spoke about cultures and the communications of groups and how to actually work as a team and listen to one another. The chapters that were given emphasizes on what it takes to be successful as a team and working together.
