The Power of Collaboration: Reflections on Group Chapter Presentations Working in groups has always been a rewarding experience for me, and our first chapter presentations were no exception. These presentations provided a wonderful opportunity to read about various topics, share insights, and learn from one another. While all the groups did an outstanding job, I must admit that Group 3, my group, was my favorite presentation—although I might be a bit biased. Nonetheless, each group's presentation brought valuable lessons to the table, specifically on leadership, intercultural communication, and communication within groups. Group 3: Leadership and its Roles/Responsibilities As a member of Group 3, I had the pleasure of working with a diverse and talented team. Considering that we are all here (in Florida), this brought my full attention to what they were saying, and I am sure the same thing happened to all the...

Blog Post: Starting off: In our recent scholarly study of communication, we started to learn about different aspects of how people interact with each other and in groups. Through a series of presentations by student groups, each one based on a different chapter from our course book, we learned about the difficulties of communicating across cultures, the subtleties of how groups work, and the most important parts of leading and solving problems as a group. This blog post is very long, so I'll go over and think about the most important things I learned from each talk. This will give you a full picture of how important it is to communicate clearly in different situations. • Chapter 3: Talking to people from other cultures Chapter 3 talks about a lot of different topics that are important for knowing how communication works across cultures. Culture and communication are looked at in terms of how cultural rules, values, and practices affect how people talk to each other. The c...

Thoughts on Group Presentations  Dear Journal, my first assignment for my speech class was to work in groups and we all each had to read a chapter and put in our parts for this assignment. Coming into this class I  didn’t  know what to expect but I am a class leader. And what I had to do for this assignment was Write an intro and Conclusion. So, what I did was read a bit of my chapter and wrote about my group's leadership and their roles. My experience through this presentation was once my teammates finished their parts I skimmed through everyone’s work and wrote out my conclusions putting the final word s all together. Wh at I thought about my Group . W hich present ed  first ,  my group did an amazing job !  and some of their examples were explained very well. The way they  didn’t  put too many words on the slides they elaborated ...
