Dear diary, I just finished with my second group project that I had for my speech class. I really did enjoy doing this project and I really did enjoy the other presentations that I got a chance to see. We had to do 2 presentations about two different topics. Which the first one we were explaining a chapter from our book. Each and every person got a different chapter and they had to go in depth with that chapter. I really did enjoy this because it made me understand a little bit more, especially on the chapter I was presenting and going to present. The second presentation I really did enjoy because we spoke, my group especially we spoke about anxiety and anxiety is something that I do struggle with and that so many people struggle with. The process for this presentation especially for me I had to read. A chapter and went in depth with it and I did a slide. Explaining about Organizing a Speech I am really glad that I chose this topic and chapter because it really did help me. Not only understand, but i know this will affect me and help me in the future. Now for the anxiety project, I had to Introduce what anxiety is and I really did enjoy speaking about it. Because Like I said, it's something that I struggle with, and I know a lot about anxiety, especially how you can overthink and get overwhelmed. Just from one topic and it can lead from you thinking about one thing into a million things. Then I passed it on to my group. They explain diverse types of anxieties and what are some things that can help with that specific anxiety. My teammates did a wonderful job explaining and working together. We decided to work in 2 pairs because we wanted to manage time, not only that. But it was a great way for them to work with one another. And as a class leader, I truly feel like this group did an amazing job working together and communicating, even though we had some students that didn't really communicate the best. The others did an amazing job. Group 2 presented first and their main topic was autism. And the way they explained this. Topic and how to get help from it and what year and just the storyline and the history of autism. I was very intrigued, and I truly think that this group did an amazing job. Even one of the students had an opportunity to speak with someone that has autism and we got to hear. That was really amazing. Hearing about autism it really does bring joy to me. One because one of my family members has autism so I know how it affects them and I know the things to help them calm down. Not only that, but my senior year oh high school I was vice president for Best Buddies. Best Buddies is a club that students can interact with the special needs kids and go on field trips and sit with them at lunch and just make them feel welcome into the school. And there were a lot of people that had autism. And sometimes they treat Those kids with autism like children. But what I've learned about it when I was in Best Buddies is that they're regular people, just like us. They want to feel normal. They are normal! They just want to feel welcome. And I've learned so much about it when I was in the club. But the way they presented and the way they spoke was just very good. They think that they're not smart. They think they don't know what they're doing. But in reality, they're very bright. Some of the kids had special needs they are very bright. We would play board games, or we would just hang out with them. And they're very bright Children! There was this one girl she was blind and she had perfect Memorization. Not only that but one time one of my friends. Were crying about something but she didn't know they were crying. And she can just feel. That they were crying it was an emotional moment. Group One was explaining About different learning disabilities and this one did hit the heart because I do have a learning disability. I have ADHD when I was younger i was prescribed on pills to help me focus and lose weight. But as years went by, I realized that i could do it on my own. Within my whole middle school. Especially when you take these pills, ADHD can change your personality. Because when I would take them, I would focus in school, but I wouldn't talk because. It was a pill working, but I was a very outgoing child. So we decided to take a year off of the pill. To see how I would do in school without it and that year I was doing really great, my grades were amazing and I was the same outgoing child. Yes, I got distracted here and there. But I knew how to control it so when Group One was presenting all this. It really did hit the heart and I think they did an amazing job with this presentation. Not only that. But the way they presented and the way they were speaking, it was just very well. As the same with group. Two, when they presented. They did an amazing job! Especially how they had. An audio of someone that had autism and we were able to hear. And just they went so in depth with this presentation that instead of reading their slides, they were just going in depth and just speaking to us about it. So that was really well Done! So far this Specific presentation. Was my favorite just because I can relate to some of the things, so that's what makes it even more interesting. Not only that, but also learning more about it. What I loved about especially in my group is that I hope that it can hit someone that is struggling with Anxiety and we were able to help them.
